Our Story

In the beginning Glen did custom cabinet and furniture work out of a barn in Bucks County, PA. Fourteen years later SnapCab secured the ILP patent, redefining industry standards and cutting elevator remodeling time by ¼ while offering versatile size and finish options. Driven by our commitment to empowering all elevator mechanics, regardless of experience, to install our system confidently. SnapCab was honored with an exclusive contract from Otis® Elevator Company.

In response to a recession, Glenn decided to broaden the company’s offerings by incorporating elevator remodeling. While it may have seemed less glamorous compared to custom furniture and cabinetry, it was useful work that the market needed.

The concept of a repeatable elevator remodeling system formed, and a patent application was filed for the Interlocking Panelling System (ILP), laying the foundation for future innovations.

Otis Elevator adopted the SnapCab elevator interior system throughout North America.

SnapCab introduced and coined what is now called “A Human Business” business management system, fundamentally influencing the development of our distinctive company culture.

Glenn’s time at ITO University introduced him to the Toyota Production System and lean methodology. SnapCab embraced lean manufacturing, enhancing efficiency, consistency, and quality. Our commitment to high-quality products and services while minimizing waste remained unwavering.

In response to another recession, our customer base further expanded. Elevator companies were looking for a solution to the downturn in new elevator business and found it in SnapCab’s ability to modernize existing elevators. This increased the elevators’ revenue while better serving their customers by adding elevator remodeling to their offerings.

Corning® Gorilla® Glass approached SnapCab to bring Gorilla Glass, well-known in mobile devices, into the architectural world, broadening our offerings and enhancing our finish offerings.

Proudly launched the SnapCab x Corning partnership at the The AIA Conference on Architecture & Design, with our innovative design mounted on Gorilla Glass. A major coworking company approached us to utilize our Interlocking Panelling System (ILP) for crafting privacy pods.

SnapCab separated its standard and custom production floors to streamline manufacturing. This change improved production flow, reduced lead times, and enhanced our ability to serve customers.

During industry hardships, SnapCab realigned with elevator maintenance companies to help them install cab interiors. By providing profitable work, we kept their teams busy and returned to our roots of supporting high-quality interior installations, overcoming challenges together.

SnapCab recognized that elevator mechanics excel in structural work but not interiors. We created an on-demand video series and a hands-on free training program at our Warrington, PA facility to teach and empower these companies in selling and installing interiors.

Continuous improvement is a key part of SnapCab. We are always looking for new ways to enhance our product and listen to the needs of our customers, including developing our products to be lighter in weight and simpler to ship and install, benefiting our customers.

SnapCab interiors are known for their easy installation and high-quality materials, setting industry standards. We continue to innovate, as seen in our 2019 Standard and Custom line separation. Our new Bostock Custom Cabs line showcases our craftsmen’s skills. We remain dedicated to supporting elevator maintenance companies and look forward to future milestones.
